“ I love Austin Java and go at least 3x a week. They even give bacon to our dogs! They have the best Spicy African Peanut Soup! I live for this and always get a cup when it is on the menu. Today, decided to splurge for the bowl of this goodness! The cup is $3 and the bowl is $6. They use the exact same cup for both the bowl and cup but "we fill it to the top for a bowl." Next time I want a bowl I'll just buy 2 cups. ”

“ The perfect go-to for a solid local brunch spot in South Austin that's not Kerbey Lane. Sometimes they do get pretty busy, but it's because it's that good! And their table turnaround is usually very fast. I always love their creativity with seasonal coffees and menu items. Such a good neighborhood spot! ”

“ First off I want to highlight the service! We had a party of 7 coming in so I called to see if they took reservations and was told they do not (it's seat yourself) but that they could accommodate a party of 7. When we arrived, expecting a wait, they had actually held a table for us so we were seated right away! It was a nice surprise and great start to the meal. The food was good, I got the salmon Benedict and it was delicious; some of our sides got mixed up (potatoes instead of the fruit we ordered) but overall it wasn't a huge deal and everyone enjoyed their food. I liked the variety of mimosas also! The server was also very friendly and accommodating with the two children in our party, going to check the brand of apple juice for them lol! The menu is pretty standard diner food- small complaint from the husband that they only offer breakfast potatoes and not hash browns but that isn't unusual. ”

“ Food, service and ambience was great, coming from a boomer that likes less noise and good conversation without hearing everyone else's. I had the smoked salmon, cream cheese and capers and my picky hubby had the Huevos Rancheros, he said it was different from the typical Mexican rancheros but he said it tasted excellent on tostadas. And the pancakes... I love them, I've had my share of pancakes all over Austin and these are by far the best! Spacious, clean bathrooms, good coffee, we will definitely be back again. “ You cannot go wrong with a classic Austin diner. It use to be that you order at the counter, but they have now switched to ordering at a table which I'm happy about. There was no wait to get a table of 2 on a Sunday morning. They have tons of great options for coffee and really delicious breakfast plates. I got the eggs Benedict with bacon and avocado and it was the perfect amount and flavor. We shared a big pancake which was moist and sweet! I love bringing folks from out of town here as it is as Austin weird as you can get. ”

“ I have loved this spot since they moved to our neighborhood. This Austin Java has such a nice feel. The staff are so friendly and helpful. You order at the counter, find a seat and they bring your food to you. They have a water station and plenty of bathrooms, they have coffee drinks, mimosas and it looks like they had a margarita special. This is a great place for brunch and they have a small outdoor seating area as well. ”

“ Decided to have breakfast before heading back across the state and decided to try this place. The minute you walk in there is such a good vibe. It's much quieter than many other restaurants so it was easy to have a conversation. Everyone working was very friendly. The food came out fast. I got the migas and both my husband and son got the chicken and waffles. The migas were tasty and those beans were delicious! My son and husband loved their chicken, said it was crunchy and juicy. My husband really loved the cinnamon butter for the waffles. Bring you appetite because they are large portions. Such a nice place- we will definitely be making it back to this place when we're in Austin again. ”
